The club confirmed that Solskjaer would begin his mission immediately and would remain with the team until the Red Devils reached an agreement with a coach to take on the job with a permanent contract.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer played for Manchester United between 1996 and 2007, scoring 126 goals in 366 games.
Solskjaer began his coaching career at Manchester United after taking over as a Red Devils coach before becoming coach of the Norwegian club.
Solskjaer is one of the most prominent players who have defended the colors of United in the era of Scottish legendary Alex Ferguson, scoring 128 goals in 367 appearances for the Red Devils during the ten seasons he spent with them after moving to Old Trafford in 1996 from his own birth.
The Norwegian crowned United with 10 titles, including the famous trophy (league, cup and Champions League) in 1999.
He retired in 2007 after suffering repeated injuries, especially in the knee and played little in the four years before his retirement, and Ferguson considered him the best back-up in the history of the club and even in the world.
Solskjaer, who won the Champions League in 1999 with a 2-1 win over Bayern Munich, was the winner of the Champions League final.
Solskjaer played his last match against United against Chelsea in a local cup final on 19 May 2007. After retiring as coach in the age groups before taking over his birth for the first time between 2011 and 2014, Solskjaer had a difficult experience with Cardiff City in the league The English Premier League in 2014 with the Welsh team only nine wins in 30 games, which led to the drop to the first degree.
He was sacked from the Norwegian team and returned to his birth in 2015 without succeeding in repeating his first experience with the latter when he led him to the league title in 2011 and 2012.
