Burnley vs Brighton Prediction & Match Preview

Burnley vs Brighton
England – Premier League
Date: Saturday, 6 February 2021
Kick-off at 15:00 UK/ 16:00 CET
Venue: Turf Moor.

Burnley will be aiming to make amends for a 2-0 loss to Man City when they take on Brighton in the Premier League round 23.

The Clarets have been having a tough fixture list, but they are surely capable of matching the Seagulls at home ground.

Both Brady and Wood are likely to miss the game with injuries, while Barnes and Brownhill are both rated doubtful for the game.

Brighton, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Tottenham and Liverpool, with the team eyeing their fifth consecutive clean sheet in the English top flight.

Since Burnley have been struggling in front of goal of late, we believe that punters can find value in betting on under 2.5 goals.

The likes of Lamptey, Jahanbakhsh, and Welbeck are all out of contention with injuries. In the first half of the season the two teams played out a goalless draw at Amex Stadium.

Team News:

As mentioned, Burnley strikers Wood and Barnes are facing a race to be fit for this showdown, although the latter is thought to have a reasonable chance of returning here.

Charlie Taylor and Josh Brownhill will also be assessed ahead of kickoff after missing out against Man City, but Dyche will have the opportunity to rest players in next week's FA Cup showdown with Bournemouth.

A rare error from Nick Pope in the Burnley goal gifted Jesus the opener for Man City on Wednesday, but the 28-year-old's spot is not under any threat here.

The one dampening aspect of Brighton's win at Anfield was Solly March being forced off through injury, and Potter has admitted that the 26-year-old's problem "does not look good".

With Tariq Lamptey still a couple of weeks away from returning, Potter will be desperate to have Joel Veltman fit again for this game, while Danny Welbeck and Alexis Mac Allister have outside chances of returning too.
