Leicester vs Liverpool Prediction & Match Preview

Leicester vs Liverpool
England – Premier League
Date: Saturday, 13 February 2021
Kick-off at 12:30 UK/ 13:30 CET
Venue: King Power Stadium.

There will be fireworks when Leicester City and Liverpool face each other at King Power Stadium in the Premier League round 24.

The Foxes aim to retain their spot in top four, and they should take advantage of Liverpool’s current form.

The good news for Brendan Rodgers is that Jamie Vardy has overcome his injury, and the team’s top scorer is widely expected to return to the starting XI.

The likes of Castagne, Fofana, Morgan, and Praet are sidelined with injuries, but Ndidi should recover in time to face Liverpool.

The Reds, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems in a 4-1 loss to Man City, with the Citizens ruining their title hopes.

Even though Sadio Mane has recovered from his injury, we are tempted to put our money on the Foxes as the Reds head into the match with the lack of confidence.

Team News:

There are minor question marks over the fitness of Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho after both missed Liverpool training earlier this week, while Georginio Wijnaldum was pictured training away from the rest of the squad.

As yet there is no further indication of injuries for any of the trio and so they will all be expected to start on Saturday, although there could be changes elsewhere - including a debut for deadline-day signing Ozan Kabak.

Liverpool have had almost a full week to prepare for this match and so Kabak should now be ready to feature, likely alongside Fabinho at centre-back, to release Jordan Henderson back into midfield.

The six-day break will have been welcomed for a squad Klopp acknowledged was looking weary, although it has not eased his injury issues much with Naby Keita, Diogo Jota, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all still sidelined.

Leicester have plenty of injury problems themselves too, with in-form full-back James Justin the latest player on the treatment table after suffering a knee injury in the FA Cup win over Brighton.

The full extent of the injury is yet to be confirmed, but Justin is expected to miss this match, leaving Christian Fuchs likely to fill in on the left with Timothy Castagne also among the absentees.

Ayoze Perez was also amongst the walking wounded against Brighton, picking up a shin injury, so he could join Wesley Fofana, Dennis Praet and Wes Morgan on the sidelines.

There was better news in midweek with the return of Wilfred Ndidi, though, while the likes of Kasper Schmeichel, Harvey Barnes, Jonny Evans and James Maddison should come back into the starting XI.

Maddison has had a direct hand in six goals from his last six Premier League home games, which is as many as he had managed in his previous 31 at the King Power.

Leicester City possible starting lineup:
Schmeichel; Pereira, Evans, Soyuncu, Fuchs; Ndidi, Tielemans; Albrighton, Maddison, Barnes; Vardy

Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Kabak, Fabinho, Robertson; Thiago, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane
