Dijon vs PSG Prediction & Match Preview

After suffering a 2-0 loss to Monaco in the Ligue 1 derby, PSG will be looking to return to winning ways in the national championship when they take on Dijon at Stade Gaston Gerard on Matchday 27.

Les Parisiens are four points behind league leaders Lille in the Ligue 1 table, meaning that this has to go down as a somewhat of a must-win game for the title holders.

Even though Neymar remains in the recovery room, we are tempted to put our money on Mauro Pochettino’s troops as Dijon are on a six-game losing run in the French top flight.

Les Hiboux failed to impress in a 2-1 loss to Lens, and we do not believe that they are capable of matching the star-studded visitors.

In Neymar’s absence, all eyes will be on Kylian Mbappe, who has netted 16 goals in the French top flight so far this term.

Team News:

Kamara is suspended for this game after his sending off against Lens, so Moussa Konate could return to the fold up top, and Frederic Sammaritano is back from a ban of his own.

Mama Balde could also return to the fold after serving a suspension for an accumulation of yellow cards, and Bersant Celina will hope to earn a recall in midfield.

Linares opted to employ a five-at-the-back system against Lens, which did not pay dividends, but he could stick with the same formation lest he risk a cricket score on Saturday.

Paris Saint-Germain continue to cope without Neymar, although he has reportedly returned to individual training and could have an outside chance of returning to face his old club Barcelona next month.

Juan Bernat has also started work on the ball again but is some way off a first-team return, while Angel Di Maria, Colin Dagba and Pablo Sarabia also occupy spots in the treatment room.

Marco Verratti will almost certainly return to the first XI this weekend, but the Italian's return - probably in place of Ander Herrera - could be the only change Pochettino chooses to make for this game.
